ASSISTANT COACHES' PAGE

Week 8

October 22, 2000

Once again this football season, pngfootball.com will interview an assistant coach off the PN-G staff. The assistant coach works very hard week in and week out to prepare the Indians to play on Friday nights. Their hard work and intense preparation are important to PN-G's success. Many times they are the ones who develop close relationships with their football pupils, and their coaching duties put them on the front lines in game preparation.

Many times the assistant coach goes unrecognized in his contribution to Indian football. At pngfootball.com, we appreciate and recognize the work done by the assistant coaches. This is their page.

On the TJ Game and PN-G's Offense

Offensively going back to our concept of spreading it around, running the option, and attacking the perimeter. Kirk Hallmark, our quarterback, is getting a feel for our offense and getting tremendously better each week. He was about 50% on his passes last night. Our offensive linemen are small, and we feel we need to run our option and throw it.

We feel like the TJ game was the best production offensively we've had this year. We're still making a mistake here and there, but we're getting closer. We have Bergeron back. We're still getting the ball to Price and Lumbley. Defee is coming on. Another big guy is tight end Jared Gary. We're starting to get him involved in our passing game.

We're still not there but we're getting better. We're making big strides. I'm happy with the quarterback. I feel he's coming along real well.

On  Lincoln

They're going to be similar to TJ. They're physical and quick. They have a lot of quickness in the secondary. We're going to go with the same philosophy. We're going to spread it out, run the option, and throw it.
