| Coach Burnett Talks About Week 10, 2000 November 5, 2000 LC-M Game I thought our players did a good job of taking care of business in Little Cypress. We knew that we needed to win the game in order to have an opportunity to go to the playoffs this week. Sometimes it's hard to convince some players to take LC-M serious because of their record. But our players took care of focusing in. It turned out to be a lot of fun Early in the game we busted a coverage and they caught a long pass on us. That woke us up, and we proceeded to take care of business. We had a couple of tough tings happen in the first half. First, the long pass. Second, a couple of turnovers kept LC-M's offense on the field and that's what they wanted. They wanted to run the ball, and get 3-4 yards a shot. In the second half we were able to open things up and get ahead of them. We were able to play all our players who work hard at practice who are loyal Indians since middle school. A lot of times it's hard to work everybody in, but we got to last night. We ended up throwing the ball real well. Tony threw well, and Hallmark caught some good passes, so that situation worked itself out. As the game wore on our passing game opened up our running game. Overall it was a fun game. We had been in some tough games, and it's good to have a game like that, where you can get ahead. It builds enthusiasm for the team. On Nederland Nederland is a real fine ballclub. There's no need of going on and on about that game. Everybody that is involved with Nederland-PN-G knows the importance of this game. Their defense is very opportunistic. They're always taking advantage of situations, causing a lot of confusions for people with different alignments and blitzes. The play with a lot of intensity. Offensively they present some situations which make you work on. The quarterback does of good job of throwing the ball. Their backs run hard, and their linemen are well drilled. They get on your and stay on you. They run the screens, draws, and power you. They're a real strong ballclub. I think it will be another on of those PN-G vs. Nederland battles. We're expecting over 13,000 people. It's really great for the players and the fans to experience something like this. Injuries No injuries were reported.
